M&M Cookies

This is one of my most requested recipes. I make the dough and then smash the M&Ms into the dough balls before I bake.

1 cup butter

1 cup sugar

1 cup brown sugar

2 eggs

1 tsp vanilla

1 tsp salt

1 tsp baking soda

2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour

Cream together cold butter and sugar in the bowl of a mixer fitted with paddle attachment. Add eggs and vanilla and mix well. Add dry ingredients until just mixed. Scoop dough into 2-TBSP sized balls and smash with your palm after placing on parchment-lined cookie sheets. Push 8 M&Ms into each dough ball. Bake at 375 for 8-9 minutes until cookies are golden and starting to crack on top. Remove to wire rack to cool.
