Snickerdoodles

You won’t see me calling for Crisco very often, but this is one time that it is a must. I use Crisco sticks for convenience because I’ll never use an entire container of Crisco. Butter flavor is preferred for these cookies, but regular will work if that’s what you’ve got.

1/2 c butter

1/2 c butter-flavored Crisco

1 1/2 c sugar

2 eggs

2 3/4 c flour

2 tsp cream of tartar

1 tsp baking soda

1/4 tsp salt

2 tsp vanilla

Directions:

Cream shortening, butter and sugar together. Add eggs and vanilla. Add sifted dry ingredients. Form into balls. Roll balls in a mixture of 2 TBSP sugar + 2 tsp cinnamon. Place dough balls 2 inches apart on a cookie sheet, and smash slightly with your palm. Bake 8-10 minutes at 400 degrees.
