The OG Chocolate Chip Cookie

Believe it or not, but I cut this recipe off the back of a flour bag 30 years ago. I have made thousands of these cookies. These cookies are just so pretty, and the perfect texture.

3 sticks of butter (1 1/2 cups)

1 1/4 c sugar

1 1/4 c brown sugar

2 eggs

1 TBSP vanilla

1 tsp salt

2 tsp baking soda

4 cups all-purpose flour

4 cups chocolate chips

Cream together cold butter, sugars, eggs, and vanilla in the bowl of a mixer fitted with a paddle attachment. Add dry ingredients and mix just until incorporated. Add chocolate chips and mix in.

Scoop into 2-TBSP sized dough balls, and place on a parchment lined cookie sheet. Smash each dough ball with your palm before baking in a 350-degree oven for 12-13 minutes.

Remove to a wire rack to cool.
